All of our potted trees are grown in a neutral soil composed of a combination of peat moss and pine bark. They are planted in a seven gallon pot to give the roots room to grow. The trees are irrigated at least twice daily with drip irrigation and fertilized.

White Pine

The White Pine is a native tree with long needles (3 inches). These are hardy, fast growing trees. White Pines average 2-3 feet of growth per year or more. The White Pine is a recommended windbreak tree because of its rapid growth and adaptability to different environments. This is also our Michigan state tree.

Black Hills Spruce

The Black Hills Spruce is a short needled tree with a silvery green appearance. This is a very hardy tree susceptible to dry hot areas better than any other spruce. These trees are usually used as landscaping trees and windbreaks. These are a very slow growing trees, growing 6-12 inches per year.

Norway Spruce

The Norway Spruce is a native of Europe. Because of it durability and adaptability it has become a staple tree here in the United States. The needles on this tree are 1 inch long. Norway Spruce are great for creating a privacy fences or used as a windbreak. The Norway Spruce can grow up to 24 inches or more a year.

Colorado Blue Spruce

The Colorado Blue Spruce have stiff, short needles (about 1 inch) with blue or blue-silver tinted color. These trees are full and great for privacy walls or windbreaks. Colorado Blue Spruces also make beautiful landscape trees because of their color and ability to maintain their conical shape. These are slow growing trees averaging only a foot of growth or less a year.

Concolor Fir (White Fir)

The Concolor Fir have needles that are about 1 1/2 inches long. These needles usually have a green-blue or silver color and have a citrus smell. These trees hold their needles for 10 years or longer creating a very full tree. These trees do well in almost any soil as long as the soil is well drained. Concolor firs are mainly used for landscaping because of its fullness, color, and shape. These trees grow about 12 inches per year.

Frasier Fir

A Frasier Fir has dark blue-green needles with a silvery underside which can make the trees shimmer or look two toned. These needles are about 1 inch long. These trees are great for watershed damage and are also used widely as an ornamental yard tree. These trees grow up to 2 feet per year.

Arborvitae are known for being fast growing, averaging 2-3 ft. per year if not more. These make great hedge rows because of their thickness and fast growth.
